My Happy Little Feet

Well, my happy little feet are finally getting their way and taking me back to Asia!

I'm lucky to be heading over to Vietnam to work with some wonderful people, I am organising my life after Asian and Australian travels and sorting through summer clothing!
I'll be spending time with lovely soul friends and making some new ones in a fast growing city of Hanoi.

Of course I am going to teach! I don't think you can travel Asia and work in the ESL industry this long and not consider it. At the moment, Vietnamese summer schools are beginning and schools are clamouring for ESL teachers to fill positions.

For any of you thinking of teaching English overseas and wondering what the industry is like in Vietnam, lovely Simone and Mal have written an excellent blog filled with loads of information. Sim has written a comprehensive entry about life and work in Hanoi specifically. Click here to take a look!

Darwin Deliverance - Rambles in the Northern Territory

Hot heat, wild hair, a laugh, a giggle, a cackle or two! Peeking through the veil, peering through a small dry window, the Sun bows gracefully over the ocean creating a never before seen type of green which blends out from the fire-glow. The rainbow horizon ripples and spreads into the night sky. It bleeds into the red rock and soaks the moss green, swirls brown in the hidden waterholes and blends into the heart of the land.

My land, your land, awakened by the light from the hills, smoke on the plains, a blanket of sacred stars, timeless Dreaming spirals, drawn away into the dusty earth, the blues and greens, the cool tingling Earth spirits pouring into the rocks, trickling into the ancient lakes and rivers.

Give me Baz, Bazza, Barry, Malibu and pineapple and crisp calamari, travel-weary trekkers, spiritual talks, lush green rainforest walks, the hope of a perfect sunset and the hugging heat. Give me powerful waterfalls, deep rivers and lakes, connecting people, connecting life!

I have a blog...

I have a blog! Wow, I have the necessary knowledge to create a blog...in my world this is an amazing feat! But obviously learning how to create a blog is the first step one takes before moving to Vietnam. (*insert eye roll)

Passports, vaccinations, plane ticket, visas are all still in their various stages of completion and I am scrambling to finish my teacher training.

After sitting the in-class course I'm full of motivation and excitement about my new career choice. I've got quite a few tips and classroom tricks under my belt and confidence that I can provide good cohesive lessons.
I've been teaching classes in the city and feel my skills getting better and better. Look out Hanoian five year olds, I'm coming to teach you English!

It was fun to sit through the 'product' I have sold everyday and will be nice to be on the other side of things, rather than promoting the courses to be using them. And I am definitely ready to be colouring in on the floor all day rather than entering data at my desk.

Goodbye again mum..another adventure is about to begin!
